In order to see the typical Catania Baroque, other points that we advise to you, in addition to have a walk along Via Etnea with palaces and churches of the'700, are: the Palace of the University and the Palace of Sangiuliano (turning on the left, we advise to visit Via Crociferi), Palazzo Asmundo Francia - Nava and the Massimo Bellini's Theatre.

To visit,  is the Public square of the Dome (Piazza Duomo), within the centre of the square there is the characteristic Fountain of the elephant "U Liotru" for the citizens it is the symbol of the city, statue surmounted from an Egyptian obelisk which originates, for some Roman, for others representing the Byzantine, but the legend tells, the pachyderm that saved the city from lava of the mount Etna in the remotest times. The Dome represents the devotion of the citizens to Agate, the Patron Saint celebrated from the 3rd to 5th February. And it is possible to see, also, a side of the Abbey of Saint' Agate that gives on Via Vittorio Emanuele II, where moreover you'll find the huge Roman Theatre. From Piazza Duomo you can continue to Fontana of the Amenano where begin the Fish market.
